The production division has signed an option on a new script in development by Taj Jackson, nephew of Michael Jackson, and the Brazilian Sco triplets (Thaisa, Thaina, and Thayana Sco) on a project titled CODE Z. Taj Jackson is also on board to direct. The film is inspired by Taj’s iconic uncle, Michael Jackson’s number one selling album of all time, THRILLER.
On the production front, BSEG anticipates being able to begin its first Sino-U.S. co-production, Snow White - Adventure in China, with a budget of $15 million USD.
The Company also signed a Term Sheet for the Jules Verne project 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with K7 Global. Development of the project is underway with Chinese investors.
The company is in the process of restructuring, and has formed a holding company, Big Screen Holdings, to manage the many divisions and separate entities of the Big Screen brand. Fairfax Entertainment Group (“FEG”) is a US multimedia entertainment company, specializing in working with companies to expand their entertainment reach on a global level.
FEG is experienced in corporate finance, mergers and acquisition, and public company development. In 2013, FEG became the biggest Class A Common Stock shareholder of Big Screen Entertainment Group (“BSEG”). Sharing the same goals of growing into a full-service global entertainment group, BSEG and Fairfax Entertainment have been working closely in exploring potential opportunities, especially with the Asian-US entertainment markets. Both companies are working together in expanding the BSEG brand and in global expansion and both controlled by Dr. Jimmy Jiang.
After an internal and external audit, the company has determined that it owed past due amounts from distributors on several films. While some of these accounts receivable have been collected over the last year, there remains a large portion to be collected. In addition, there have been several court judgments that the company has acquired against an individual and a company.
BSEG had three board meetings dated February 20th, March 25, 2015 and May 18th, 2015 to discuss and approve deals in progress, letters of intent, restructuring and new subsidiaries.
Mr. Michael Manasseri and Mr. Stephen Eckelberry resigned from the Board of Directors this past quarter. Both Mr. Manasseri and Mr. Eckelberry are currently working with CEO Kimberley Kates in Big Screen Pictures and are officers in Big Screen Pictures. Their resignation left two BSEG Board seats open and will be filled by two new highly qualified individuals coming into the company in 2016.
