Synopsis
Meet Stella James (Sean Young) - sensuous, fiercely independent and possessing a fiery appetite for living. She leads a rather empty life with alcoholic friend, Teo Dylan Walsh). One day, Teo gives her a plane ticket to Los Angeles to live without him. She gets work in a restaurant as a chef run by George Babbington (John Heard) and falls in love with younger photographer Frank (Richard Hillman). Stella vigorously pursues her career as a top chef while also seducing a selection of men to educate herself in love and lust, including a lesbian encounter with Clara (Shawnee Smith). Her passion for food is matched only by her appetite for men, and her journey of exploration shatters the sexual double standards that surround her. But Stella discovers that sex is only one element of true love when lust turns into something more. "How Stella Found Love" is a film that shatters the roles of what you think women want.
