Stephen Eckelberry, an accomplished filmmaker with over 30 years of experience, joined Big Screen Entertainment in 2004, bringing his exceptional talent and expertise to the company.

HIDDEN CHAMBERS (starring Kelly LeBrock) which he wrote and directed for Big Screen, has received widespread acclaim, including at the Hollywood Film Festival and the Portuguese Fantasporto Film Festival. He received the Director's Award at the Macon Film Festival for his remarkable work. The film captivated audiences with its Hitchcock-ian style and thrilling twists.

Stephen's career took flight with his first short film, "Going Home," which won the prestigious Golden Plaque at the Chicago International Film Festival for the best short over fifteen minutes. The film also garnered attention at various festivals, including Denver, Bumbelshot, Cannes Women in Film, Hermosa Beach, and the Mill Valley Film Festival.

As a director, Stephen achieved recognition with his feature film debut, FIRST DEGREE, which premiered at the Austin Film Festival. The film received nominations for best acting at the Method Fest and Best Director at the Nashville Film Festival. Its sharp critique of middle-class American dreams, as reviewed by Robert Pardi of TV Guide, showcased Stephen's keen insight into societal issues.

In addition to his directorial accomplishments, Stephen has many years experience as an editor and post production supervisor, in both film and TV, encompassing notable films such as Vincent Gallo's BUFFALO 66, THIS WORLD, THEN THE FIREWORKS starring Billy Zane and Gina Gershon, "DOUBLE DUTY” a TV movie comedy starring Tom Sizemore and action star Mimi Lesseos, and cult classic COOL WORLD, starring Brad Pitt and Kim Basinger.

Stephen's diversity as a producer is evident through projects such as holocaust documentary FINDING HANNAH, Nickelodeon Pictures’ MY BROTHER THE PIG featuring Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes, and MALAIKA for HBO Kids. For Big Screen Entertainment, he served as a co-producer on FORGET ABOUT IT starring Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welch, and as a producer on BABYSITTER WANTED, which was acclaimed at the prestigious Sitges International Film Festival and celebrated as one of the best horror films of its year by horror-movies.ca.
